Happy Birthday to me!!!! I can not believe that it has been one full year since I started Gigi's Flavor of Life. The way that time is set up these days..smh! I guess it's true, "life moves fast when you're doing what you want."

Sharing art, and my take on style and fashion has been an amazing journey thus far. I have met so many remarkable people out here in these internet streets; with nothing but kind words of encouragement and admiration.

This was the very first look that I shared with you all on Instagram. I have learned so many things since I took this first picture.

When I began this journey I had no clue what I was doing., I had to teach myself every little thing every step of the way. Let's just say the only thing I knew how to do was point the camera/phone and take a picture, and not really in the way that a photo needs to be taken for a blog or social media, so really, I had to learn that too.

All the different hats I wear, of which I had zero idea about...ugh!

6. Researcher

The funniest thing is when people say to me that, "my photographer is doing a wonderful job and can they get his info." LOL!! I'm a one woman show.

Aside from this list of how-to things that I have learned over this last year, I have also learned a few other things...

First and most surprisingly I've learned that people are kind and supportive. I have had so many of you reach out to me with your cheering me ons, asking for style advice, even just the simple, "hey gurls!" from friends that I have not seen or heard from since grade school.

Secondly, I learned (still learning, truly) that I can do hard things. See the thing about that is I've realized over this last year that doing hard things are never done when you are 100% sure or confident. You do the thing scared, afraid, fearful of failure, despite what others may think or what you may even think of yourself.

Third, I've learned that doing something that you love is so important to your soul. Everyone should have a thing that is their own, whatever it may be, that brings them joy.
