To Heel or Not to Heel

In a parallel universe. I work with a women named Errrrika!! (yes you have to say it just like that).

She struts into work (of course with a name like Errrrika!! you don't just simply walk). Everyday we have our normal banter of hellos, but there is often times a conversation about fashion.

She always says to me, "Gigi I love my heels, I cannot live without my heels." Now let me be clear the only thing that stops Errrika!! from dawning her heels sometimes is the weather or perhaps a sporty fashion moment that may call for a sneaker.

When I grow up I want to be like Errrika!!...But full disclosure these bad knees of mine won't let me live my best Errrika!!! high heeled life (sigh). So, I am perpetually on the hunt for the most comfortable yet fashionable shoe. Now I do wear a heel from time to time because I love love love a good heel moment, but everyday...nope not happening!

I must say though that I am happy to see the 90's trend of a thicker style heel retuning to the fashion scene. I can remember wearing strappy thick healed sandals by Enzo Angiolini and Via Spiga back in the 90's. The great thing about them besides being comfortable was the chances of falling off your heels were nil to none. I may even still have a few pairs laying around somewhere.

Nevertheless, this seasons fashions did not disappoint when it came to me choosing a few new comfy stylish shoes to add to my spring/summer wardrobe.

The Slide - I chose a pearl embellished version of the slide by Sam Edelman. This style sandal comes in an array of colors. If you love the Hermès Oran sandal this is a more affordable similar style.

The Dad Sandal - At first I was a bit on the fence about this style of sandal. It is one of those ugly-chic/cute I gotta have it styles of the season. I chose a colorful version of the dad sandal to give it a more fun playful vibe.

The Dad Sneaker - Like the dad sandal I was on the fence at first until I found the perfect pair. Zara came through for your girl. Literally one of my best purchases of the season.

The Woven Strap Mule - Bottega Veneta still has us all in the choke hold with their Lido mule. I chose a Lido mule inspired version by Vince Camuto that did not come with the Lido inspired price

$$$. If you only add one new style sandal to your wardrobe this spring/summer this I tell you is it!

The High Heel Mule - When I saw this shoe by Coach I prayed to the shoe GODs that this would be a comfortable fit for me. I must say that my prayers were answered.
